Mareeba Sale Report – 9th April 2024

There were approximately 100 head yarded by the Mareeba Combined Agents this week. Numbers were down however this is for the most part due to the store sale being held this Saturday 13th April by the Mareeba Combined Agents Inc., at the NQ Saleyards in Mareeba (9am start). Quality of the yarding in the store side was down a bit but in the fat market, there were some very good cows on offer and quite a few good bulls as well.  The buyer panel was limited with 2-3 buyers operating across all lines.

In the fat market, steers in the 400-600kg weight range got to a top of 232cents/kg, to average 223cents/kg. Good quality Brahman type cows got to a top of 194cents/kg, to average 188cents/kg. Bulls in the 500-650kg weight range, went to 234cents/kg, to average 215cents/kg.

With the limited number of store cattle on offer, it’s difficult to quote for all lines but as an indication, steers made 280cents/kg while young heifers got to 164cents/kg.

The MAREEBA STORE SALE is going ahead this Saturday 13th April 2024, 9am start. Numbers booked to date – 963 steers, 619 heifers, 115 mickeys and 30 cow & calf units. Weights will be up to 400kg, and all breeds on offer.  There will be food vendors, local agricultural suppliers with stalls and plenty of action on the catwalk!
